Allen Iverson Traded to Denver Nuggets.
The Denver Nuggets received Allen Iverson and Ivan McFarlin, while sending Andre Miller, Joe Smith, and two 2007 first-round picks to Philadelphia.
Vice-president of player personnel (Nuggets) Rex Chapman said Iverson and Anthony will "be a dynamic duo together. They are going to take this franchise to new heights."
In response to never winning a championship with Iverson, although he took them in 2001 to the Finals against the Lakers, Sixers Chairman Ed Snider said, "We haven't won a championship, and I think we were a long way from winning a championship, even with Allen. "It was time for us to take a deep breath and say we've got to move in a different direction."
He also claims "Allen wanted to move in a different direction."
"I talked to Allen and he's ecstatic," Chapman said. "We hope to have him here tomorrow.
Allen has proven that he's a winner."
Atleast Sixers President Billy King thanked Allen Iverson for his contributions.
"I think he gave us all some great excitement," King said. "I think he's one of the greatest ever to play the game."
"This team was built around Allen and he helped carry us for a long time," King said. "I think now we need to step back and evaluate with different players, with different personnel.
"With the cap room and draft picks, it'll give us a chance to rebuild again."
Allen Iverson helped the Philadelphia 76ers for 11 beautiful and strenuous years. Only Minnesota's Kevin Garnett has been with one team longer than Iverson among active players.
